Bye-bye Coach

My soccer coach left the team with no warning and no discussion. One day we all get an email that says that he will not be returning and is instead going to be in New Mexico this semester. He always wanted us to respect him, but as time went on, he was less and less deserving of it. How are we to respect somebody who doesn't respect us? He left many of the team members angry, hurt, confused, and in some cases grateful to see him go. The way his treatment of us had deteriorated almost makes his leaving good news because it gives us the hope for somebody we can trust. As things are now, the men's coach is helping us out by running practices and he is doing a superb job. I have hope for the future though. My hope is that we will get a coach who does not choose favorites and who cares for us and the world's greatest game: soccer.
