Why be negative?

Many people I know believe that the world has conspired against them to make their lives miserable. While this sounds like the person thinks very highly of themselves because they view themselves as important enough to require a worldwide conspiracy, the actual result is a very low self esteem. I am sometimes not sure if the person just wants attention, or if they really think that poorly of themself.

How can a person wake up each morning knowing that the day ahead of them is going to be the worst ever? People walk into the world positive that nothing good will happen to them, and ultimately end up creating a self fulfilling prophecy. Are they afraid of having high expectations that may not be met? It would be so much easier to assume that the day will be good, and only let extreme situations make it otherwise.

I love waking up and looking forward to a new day....ok so that is kinda a lie. I don't actually like the waking up part. But I do enjoy the fact that I can start each day with a clean slate. A new day should be viewed as new and not a continuation of the drudgery some call life. I wish more people would hope for the best rather than expect the worst.
